Blink XT2 Cloud Security Cameras

We are constantly pushing for better value for everyone. When an elderly customer that lives alone got in touch with us after some unusual goings-on around her house over the last few weeks, she wanted to feel a little safer in her own home. We were more than happy to help and provide a solution that met the brief of being low cost, functional and with motion detection available on her phone.

We looked into a number of solutions and the one that came out on top was Amazon’s Blink XT2 battery powered wireless camera system. This cloud driven camera system delivers quality video footage with night vision and motion controlled monitoring. It utilises a USB powered received placed near the cameras to act as a bridge between the cameras and the internet. We installed the cameras and from there the system was configured with motion zones, and automatic arming and disarming on a timer. The system can be configured a number of ways including clip length, sensitivity, video resolution (up to 1080p). It was also set up to be viewed remotely and in this case was installed on her childrens phones to keep an eye on things in the event that the customer could not be contacted for whatever reason.

Price installed for a three camera setup (expandable up to 10) was around £369 in the North West of England.

We would recommend something like this for a casual home setup but if you need something that's hard-wired, with more advanced security features with continuous recording for critical applications and protection, we would always recommend Ubiquiti's UniFi Protect range of cameras.

If you're interested in the Blink XT2 system or UniFi Protect, improving security or networking in your home or business, drop us a message, and we will quote something that best suits your needs.
